It's the fastest growing sport in America, and Michiganders can't get enough! The City of Kalamazoo's Park Department just announced the completion of six brand-new outdoor pickleball courts, and they're now open for public use.

Six New Outdoor Pickleball Courts Open at Spring Valley Park

It's the little things that can have a really big impact on quality of life here in Kalamazoo. Things like free Wi-Fi available in city parks, new and accessible kayak launches, and now, more outdoor pickleball courts for players of any skill level.

According to data shared by MLive, Michigan ranked among the top 10 states for pickleball lovers in 2025, with about 4.09 pickleball venues for every 100,000 residents. That was a whole year ago though. And if the steady addition of new courts across Michigan is any indication, it's safe to say the sport hasn't exactly slowed down any since then!

You'll find both numerous pickleball courts scattered across the Kalamazoo area, both indoor and outdoor. One of the area's most recent indoor pickleball facilities opened inside the former D&W grocery store on Romence Rd. in Portage, PickleRage:
