
Michigan Senate Passes Minimum Wage Increase
The Michigan Senate voted today to approve a bill that would increase Michigan's minimum wage to $9.20 an hour by 2017.
This legislation would replace the 1964 Minimum Wage Law of 1964.
The bill passed on a 24 to 14 bipartisan vote and would increase Michigan's minimum wage to $8.15 on September 1 then to $8.50 on January 1, 2015 then $8.85 on January 1, 2016 and finally $9.20 on January 1, 2017.
