Police Cite Semi Driver In I-69 Fire

The driver of a semi has been cited by police fore equipment violations after the man’s truck caught fire and blocked traffic on I-69 this morning.

Calhoun County Sheriff’s Deputies say the driver told them he was northbound on I-69 near O Drive South shortly before 5 when he noticed his tires were on fire.

The truck skidded to a stop blocking the northbound lanes.

The truck was destroyed before the fire could be put out.  One northbound lane was reopened after the fire was extinguished.
