Portage Hires Acting City Manager

The City of Portage has a new acting City Manager while the search continues for a permanent replacement.  Former Jackson City Manager Laurence Shaffer was unanimously chosen to fill the post at a meeting of the Portage City Council yesterday.  Slavin Management Consultants has been named as the group that will conduct a search for a permanent replacement for Maurice Evans, who retired last month.
